Kestrel (2026)
10 minute performance, performed at Birch Gallery as part of Billie Winters’s Body Clock exhibition launch.I have signed myself up to perform a piece of writing on transmasculinity. This is off the back of a short essay that I started a few months ago called The Best Men I Know.
The idea was that I would take that essay and I would develop it into a script.
The unforeseen difficulty of this has been - that I would very much like a man to perform it for me. So, when every one of the men that I asked to perform this piece of writing refused to do so (though they all have very good reasons) I am still disappointed, longing, and caught off guard by the humour of having to bring my own man. So rather than me, stood here, you have to understand I’m formless. I’m the narrator. I’m not actually here at all.
